What are the neurological manifestations of endocarditis, and how often do they occur?

Serious and often fatal neurological complications have been reported to be associated with infections of the endocardial surface. Results of a new study, presented at EAN 2019, suggest that many patients develop such complications, in line with previously reported figures. However, while neurological complications did not significantly affect mortality, the mortality rate was shown to be twice the rate reported in the literature.
