Investigating connections with hearing loss and vertigo in neurodegenerative diseases


  • Hearing loss and vertigo are associated with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA), which may reflect a common neuropathologic background between hearing function and neurodegenerative disease.

Why this matters

    Hearing loss and balance problems may be underreported in people with PD and MSA, thus it is not included in diagnostics of the diseases and little clinical data exist.
