Presidential lecture awardees
The presidential lecture awardees did not disappoint. Dr Werner Poewe, recipient of the Stanley Fahn award, provided expert perspective on the issue of the correct diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. He provided a historical perspective and covered up-to-the-minute technologies including molecular imaging and high-field-strength MRI. Dr Hiroshi Shibasaki presented the David Marsden Lecture, giving a masterly review of the phenomenology and physiology of myoclonus, a field that he defined over the course of his career.
