Analysis of remote intracerebral hemorrhages following IV thrombolysis

  • In patients that developed remote intracerebral hemorrhage (r-ICH) after receiving intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (IV rtPA), nearly half of them had preexisting brain lesions, all of which were of vascular origin.

Why this matters

Understanding the relationship between IV rtPA and r-ICH will aid in clinical decision-making.
